# Match Kinds
There are a few different kinds of Trosnoth matches with slightly different rules and restrictions. Here are some of the most common ones.

## Waiting Phases
These aren't really matches per se, but you'll come across them all the time in Trosnoth. They are:
### Lobby
This is the default game phase when you're between matches. In the lobby phase, there are no teams and it's impossible to capture territory. In the lobby, the voting menu will be visible in the top-left corner of the screen. When enough players select "Ready" from the voting menu, a match will start.

### Rabbit Hunt
When a match finishes, players who are still alive are rabbits. You can identify rabbits by the fact that they still have their team colour. Until the last rabbit dies, or one minute passes after the game finishes, there is a rabbit hunting phase. When a rabbit dies during this phase, they become a rogue. If you are a rabbit, your aim during this phase is to survive for the whole minute.

## Match Kinds
### Standard Trosnoth Match
In a standard Trosnoth match, the aim of the game is to capture all of the territory from the opposing team. Matches may have a timer. If the timer runs out, the team owning the greatest number of zones is the winner.
### Trosball
In a Trosball match, zones cannot be captured. Instead, the aim of the game is to score points by carrying or throwing the trosball through the goal orb at your opponent's end of the field. But be careful! If you hold on to the trosball for too long, it will explode and kill you.
To pick up the trosball, simply touch it with your player. To throw the trosball, press space bar (or your use upgrade key). During a Trosball game, you can only respawn in a zone if that zone's orb is on your team's side of the trosball (or if it's the zone you're defending). |
