Slowness for Windows SSH clients?

it was painfully slow to clone on Windows. My first attempt was in cmd.exe, using the ssh.exe provided by the native OpenSSH package on Windows 10. I don't have timing numbers on that, but I'd say it was easily > 45 minutes. I also tried under WSL using Ubuntu, and it timed as 32 minutes.
If that is confirmed, we want this fixed for Heptapod 0.12.0, and I can imagine a scenario that could be explanation: there's nothing specific in our SSH support for Windows clients, quite the contrary: we normalize all remote hg calls to hg -R REPO_PATH serve --stdio
, for security reasons. So there's the possibility there is some specific parameter sent by Windows clients that gets lost in the way.
