Incorrect work with gitmodules
Created originally on Bitbucket by igor_kiselev
If git repo has .gitmodules file, that define module that was never updated to specific revision on git side, hg-git still add it to .hgsub. As this module has no specifc information about revision, hg fails to create correct .hgsubstate. After it I cannot do most work with hg repo (for example hg prevents merging two revisions.
Here is an example:
-
Try to merge Branch_1 and Branch_2
-
Commit fails with next message:
hg commit --verbose --message Merge --user "..." --debug
subrepo: git --version
subrepo: git --version
subrepo: git rev-parse HEAD
abort: The directory name is invalid
Really, as this module was never initialized on git side, it should not be added to .hgsub at all.
