xubuntu 20: failed to import extension
I have used hg-git successfully for several years, but just updated from xubuntu 18 to 20.04.2 LTS, and the old version stopped working. Updated the latest via hg clone https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/hg-git ~/.hgext/hg-git
But the test line gives:
tmt-local2077% hg --config extensions.hggit=~/.hgext/hg-git/hggit version -v *** failed to import extension hggit from ~/.hgext/hg-git/hggit: future feature generator_stop is not defined (init.py, line 140) Mercurial Distributed SCM (version 5.3.1) (see https://mercurial-scm.org for more information)

A web search for the error message got no hits. Any suggestions? My underlying suspicion is that I need to run mecurial under python 3, but I can't seem to find any comment on this.
