continue: added logic for hg continue · 3c16b9c0b099
      Taapas Agrawal authored
This is part of GSoC19 project `Implement abort and
continue commands`. This patch is part of the continue plan.

This adds the basic logic for hg continue. This command
aborts an multistep operation like graft, histedit, rebase,
transplant and unshelve if they are in an unfinished state.

The first part of the logic is determining the unfinished
operation from the state detection API under statemod.
This API is extended to support hg continue by adding a method
to register the abort logic as a function (here continuefunc).

Once the unfinished operation is determined the registered
logic is used to resume the command in case it is interrupted.
The benefit of this kind of framework is that any new extension
developed can support hg continue by registering the command
      and logic under statedetection API.

hg continue currently supports --dry-run/-n flag only.
It is used to dry run hg abort

      recover: add a --[no-]verify flag · 013de80bf90e
      Pierre-Yves David authored
For trivial cases, the cost of the verify run after `hg recover` is getting in
the way. In addition for very large repositories, the cost is simply too high
to be paid, making `hg recover` an unusable commands.

We introduce a --verify flag, set by default. If is automatically associated
with a --no-verify flag that one can use to skip the verify step.

We might consider changing the default behavior in the future. However this is
out of scope for this series.

debugcommands: ability to suppress logging of handshake · ad1c07008e0b
      Gregory Szorc authored
The tests for calling wire protocol commands were getting quite
verbose because they included the results of the capabilities
request. Furthermore, it was annoying to have to update several
tests every time the capabilities response changed.

The only tests that really care about the low-level details of
the capabilities requests are those testing the protocol
handshake. And those are mostly not instantiating peer instances
or are contained to limited files.

This commit adds an option to `hg debugwireproto` to suppress logging
of the handshake. The shell helper function to perform HTTP tests
has been updated to use this by default. Lots of excessive test
      output has gone away.

fileset: make debugfileset filter repository files · 3d8ef60569d8

This prepares for the structural change of the fileset. A computed fileset
will no longer be a set of files, but a boolean function (i.e. matcher) to
test if an input file matches the given fileset expression.

--all-files option is added because some examples in the test need to scan

      debugmergestate: make templated · acbfa31cfaf2
      Martin von Zweigbergk authored
Our IntelliJ team wants to be able to read the merge state in order to
help the user resolve merge conflicts. They had so far been reading
file contents from p1() and p2() and their merge base. That is not
ideal for several reasons (merge base is not necessarily the "graft
base", renames are not handled, commands like `hg update -m` is not
handled). It will get especially bad as of my D7827. This patch makes
the output s a templated. I haven't bothered to make it complete
(e.g. merge driver states are not handled), but it's probably good
      enough as a start.

I've done a web search for "debugmergestate" and I can't find any
indication that any tools currently rely on its output. If it turns
out that we get bug reports for it once this is released, I won't
object to backing this patch out on the stable branch (and then
perhaps replace it by a separate command, or put it behind a new
      flag).

The changes in test-backout.t are interesting, in particular this:

      ```
        -    other path: foo (node not stored in v1 format)
        +    other path:  (node foo)
      ```

I wonder if that means that we actually read v1 format
incorrectly. That seems to be an old format that was switched away
from in 2014, so it doesn't matter now anyway.

copy: add experimetal support for unmarking committed copies · 7c4b98a4e536
      Martin von Zweigbergk authored
The simplest way I'm aware of to unmark a file as copied after
      committing is this:

        hg uncommit --keep <dest>
        hg forget <dest>
        hg add <dest>
        hg amend

This patch teaches `hg copy --forget` a `-r` argument to simplify that into:

        hg copy --forget --at-rev . <dest>

In addition to being simpler, it doesn't touch the working copy, so it
can easily be used even if the destination file has been modified in
      the working copy.

      I'll teach `hg copy` without `--forget` to work with `--at-rev` next.

copy: add option to unmark file as copied · 8be0c63535b5
      Martin von Zweigbergk authored
To unmark a file as copied, the user currently has to do this:

        hg forget <dest>
        hg add <dest>

The new command simplifies that to:

        hg copy --forget <dest>

That's not a very big improvement, but I'm planning to also teach `hg
      copy [--forget]` a `--at-rev` argument for marking/unmarking copies
after commit (usually with `--at-rev .`).

This patch adds a new --rev flag to hg branch which can be used to change branch
of revisions. This is motivated from topic extension where you can change topic
on revisions but this one has few restrictions which are:

      1) You cannot change branch name in between the stack
      2) You cannot change branch name and set it to an existing name
      3) You cannot change branch of non-linear set of commits
      4) You cannot change branch of merge commits.

Tests are added for the same.

merge: add `--abort` flag which can abort the merge · 41ef02ba329b
      Pulkit Goyal authored
Currently we don't have a good functionality to abort the merge and tell user to
do `hg update -C .` which can leads to different results if user missed the '.'
and moreover does not align with other abort functionalities like rebase, shelve
      etc.

This patch adds `hg merge --abort` which will abort the ongoing merge and take
us back to the chagneset where we started from. Works in both cases when merge
resulted in conflicts and when there were no conflicts.

      context: introduce p[12]copies() methods and debugp[12]copies commands · a4358f7345b4
      Martin von Zweigbergk authored
As mentioned earlier, I'm working on support for storing copy metadata
in the changeset instead of in the filelog.

In order to transition a repo from storing metadata in filelogs to
storing it in the changeset, I'm going to provide a config option for
reading the metadata from the changeset, but falling back to getting
it from the filelog if it's not in the changeset. In this compatiblity
mode, the changeset-optmized algorithms will be used. We will then
need to convert the filelog copy metadata to look like that provided
by changeset copy metadata. This patch introduces methods that do just
      that.

By having these methods here, we can start writing changeset-optimized
algorithms that should work already before we add any support for
storing the metadata in the changesets.

This commit also includes new debugp[12]copies commands and exercises
      them in test-copies.t.
