Support for pruning revisions
Created originally on Bitbucket by wbruna (Wagner Bruna)
At work we use branches extensively to develop common code (think "pull --force" a library into the program repository: it's a bit more complex but far more robust than using subrepositories, at least for now). A downside of this approach is the graph becomes quite cluttered with all library history details inside each program repository. But an option similar to log --prune would do the job quite nicely.
The attached patch adds basic support to revgraph for pruning revisions and all their ancestors. I've also added a parameter for hiding specific revisions, just because I've got it almost for free (I can't think of a use case for that, except perhaps replacing the "dumb" changelog display entirely).
The pruned revisions could be kept:
in memory , edited through a dialog or panel
on a config option: easier to code (I'm testing the patch that way), and fine for my use case, but I'm not sure if it'd be generally useful.
Unfortunately I've been progressively busier these days, so I haven't been able to code a proper interface for it.
