“Failed to clone” when repository source path contains “#” character

Created originally on Bitbucket by sergeykolosov (Sergey Kolosov)

Cloning local repository containing “#” character in path (ex. D:\Dev\C#) fails with the following message in the log:

{{{ repository D:\Dev\C not found

[command interrupted] }}}

TortoiseHg (version 1.1.7) with Mercurial-1.7.2, Python-2.6.4, PyGTK-2.16.0, GTK-2.16.6
