This is bizarre, but for some reason one of our basic workflows has stopped working. Until today our normal workflow was:
Edit things locally, when we're ready to commit we pull the latest changes from the server, then we update to tip by right clicking the tip and selecting "Update", and in the update dialog we leave "Always merge" selected.
This is how the dialog looks:
![](https://i.imgur.com/qkMufSK.png)
Until today, it worked perfectly. We'd layer our changes on the latest revision before comitting, and that way we'd never have to deal with any rebasing or things like that (if there was a conflict when merge we'd resolve locally anyways since the update would fail).
Now, I get this dialog:
![](https://i.imgur.com/r73q6aS.png)
However, if I just go to the terminal and try using `hg update`, it works perfectly (and then TortoiseHg Workbench happily shows the change).
~~What's odd is this changed across all TortoiseHg versions (3.8.1, 4.6.1 and 4.8 in our pool of PCs)!~~ Actually, I think the behaviour on non 4.8 was intended (due to some branching), so I will keep this report specific to 4.8. I'm sure its some ID10T problem, but do you have any idea what suddenly caused this? I've made no changes to the main repo server, and definitely I haven't touched other clients either.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/5280ProgrammingError: unsupported changeid '1' of type <type 'str'>2020-06-21T11:16:54ZBitbucket ImporterProgrammingError: unsupported changeid '1' of type <type 'str'>*Created originally on Bitbucket by Anonymous*

Mercurial fails when trying to push on Windows.
This is using the "hg" command and not "thg".
This is with the about to be released version 4.8.0, but it happens with all versions since 4.5.2. Versions 4.5.0 does not have the problem.

If the 'evolve' extension is disabled in .hgrc, then it does not happen,
although that may be due to the fact that there are obsolescence
markers in the repo.

Update operations in moderately large repositories are very slow now and tortoise is sustained cpu usage for the duration.
This is even true if say i update from the command line, the command line returns very quickly but tortoise then sits at 100% of one core CPU
we're talking ~5 seconds to update from one point to another in the ui and < 0.5 in command line. commit ets also taking as long in the ui
reverting to 4.7.1 makes it fast again (but repeated branch names are broken)

I don't know what to even do here except put in a bug report, because this looks to me to be a bug. Hello,
TortoiseHG is not asking for SSH password in Ubuntu 18.04.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open TortoiseHG without a terminal.
2. Click the pull button
Expected result:
1. A prompt is shown asking for ssh password
Actual result:
1. TortoiseHG behaves as if it is waiting for the password, but no way to write it is shown
Additional comments:
* If you open TortoiseHG from a terminal, the password is asked in the terminal.
* The prompt shows in Ubuntu 16.10.
* The Ubuntu library needed for this to work (askpass) is installed & working when you call it independently from tortoiseHG.

The icon modifiers (green check mark etc) in windows 7 explorer does not appear when google backup and sync (B&S) is installed on the computer.
To reproduce:
Install TortoiseHG 4.7.1 - everything works OK
Install B&S version 3.42.9858.3671 on the computer and the icons go away
To fix:
Uninstall B&S, logout and login
I use TortoiseHG 4.7.1 and B&S version 3.42.9858.3671
This may probably be considered a bug in B&S.
