Now, they are shown as a deleted and an added line.
So, if I add an `if()` statement to wrap a block of code, and consequently indent the whole block, I will see a diff in which the whole block is replaced by a new block (with only the indentation changed).
If there is a setting for this, which I don't know of and never touched, then either the setting is new and the default value is wrong, or the default was changed to the wrong default value.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/5600hg pull --verbose --rev null2020-08-19T15:39:20Zvitidevhg pull --verbose --rev nullsync panel. checkbox 'target'.

In the lower-right panel where the changes in the file are shown, most of the time I use the "+/-" diff view (called "view change in unified diff output" - I guess it should read "changes" instead of "change").
However, occasionally, I switch to the "view change[s] in context of file" view because I need to see *where* in the file things have been changed:
![image](/uploads/fdd20d140813059b55e35f417318d3fa/image.png)
By having a glance at this view, **I expect to find highlighted all the places where the file is modified**.
However, **deletions** are not highlighted in any way.
If I assume that the places where the file has been changed are highlighted, I'll jump to the wrong conclusion that everywhere where there's nothing highlighted, the file is unchanged. While instead, where nothing is highlighted the file is either unchanged or lines have been deleted.
This makes this view way less useful and dangerously misleading.
I know that it is designed to show the file as it is now, with the changed parts highlighted. And I know that while you can highlight the added lines in green, and the modified lines in purple, you can't highlight deleted lines with any background color because deleted lines are no longer part of the file and hence they are not shown.
However, **it would be pretty easy**, and definitely necessary, **to mark the places where lines have been deleted**.
You can do that for example with a red horizontal line (meaning a geometrical line, not a line of text), both in the text view and in the scrollbar.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/5592feature: go to changeset from filtered repoview2020-09-02T05:30:20Zvitidevfeature: go to changeset from filtered repoviewWhen a filter is applied to repoview, there is no way to direct jump to the changeset in the full repoview. - open a repository
- click on the working directory
Expected:
- Never, under any circumstances, should the whole UI freeze and stop responding. Even if there is a legitimate reason why loading the data about the working directory would take any perceptible amount of time (i.e. more than a few milliseconds), the critical parts of the UI, and those not involved in the loading (e.g. scrolling the list of commits) should remain responsive. Any part of the UI that has a good reason for becoming unavailable while something is being processed, should become greyed out and a spinning icon or equivalent should be displayed.
- Loading the working directory shouldn't be particularly slow in the first place. A working directory that has no change at all should show up virtually instantly; one that only has a handful of changes should load so quickly that any violation of the expectations outlined in the previous point would become almost negligible.
Observed:
- The whole UI freezes and becomes unresponsive while the data is loaded. It doesn't resopond to scrolling, to clicking anywhere, even to resizing or (un)maximizing the window.
- That lasts for a disproportionately long amount of time. With a particular repository that I tried to open a few minutes ago, it got frozen for several minutes and I ended up killing Thg. Even a working directory that has no changes at all takes a short but perceptible fraction of a second, enough to annoy you a little bit. If there are just a handful of changes it can take a few seconds. Something is not being done efficiently enough.
The slowness in and of itself, and the fact that during that time the whole UI stops responding, are two separate issues each of which needs fixing on its own, even though fixing either will somewhat alleviate the impact of the other (and certainly the freezing is the most serious one).
BTW, this is a regression. Until recently I was using Ubuntu 16.04, and I had installed whatever version of THG was available through the package system. Then, upon upgrading to 20.04, Ubuntu decided to uninstall THg without asking, and it was no longer available via ppa, so I installed it from source. I never observed the issue on the older version.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/5576Python error when attempting to run after download2020-08-11T10:12:07Zphp4fanPython error when attempting to run after downloadI had previously used thg as installed via "apt-get" on Ubuntu 16.04.

When upgrading to 20.04, apparently the upgrade tool decided to uninstall it without warning, and the ubuntu ppa's are not available anymore.
After a few weeks thinking Thg had been abandoned, I found this repository. The only installation instructions I could find are these:
https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/blob/branch/stable/INSTALL.txt
and they say:
> On Linux, the suggested methods for using TortoiseHg are to either
install a package built for your distribution
(not an option as per the above)
> or run directly out of a cloned repository.
So I tried the latter.
I cloned the repository, and then I ran the executable I found in the root directory, that is `thg`
I get this error:

The log column widths (graph, rev, description etc.) frequently change to very wide values. (Scrolling around to drag them all back is unfortunately rather annoying and time consuming.)
This seems to happen in various situation, e.g. when an external monitor is connected / disconnected / the screen resolution changes / the Windows zoom setting changes / ... (These are not rare events on notebooks.)
(Also the order of columns sometimes changes when this happens.)
Is it a bug? A feature I don't understand? Is there a way to save and restore column widths or disable auto-resizing?
(I [searched issues related to column width](https://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/thg/issues?q=column+width), but none seem to describe this problem.)
