The mouse interaction for using the revset query language are all to the right of the query text field (specifically the drop down). Therefore, it makes much more sense for the red X button to be over there as well.
Otherwise, it forces a lot of back-and-forth mouse movements to cancel a past-run query.

It may be a case of PEBCAK, but I can't seem to select multiple patches in the left-hand pane which lists the patches when "Patch Queue" is selected.
Based on my experience with thg 1.1.9, and the use of the plural in the tooltip for the Delete Patch button (being "Delete selected patches"), I presume that it is intended that multiple selection should be available (if not this should be an enhancement issue).
When a patch is selected, using any of ctrl-click, shift-click, or holding down shift and using the arrow keys, to select an additional patch, instead causes a different (single) patch to be selected.

Currently in order to reorder MQ patches "Reorder Unapplied Patches" dialog (right-click - "Reorder patches...") should be used.

This is similar to issue 276, but happens specifically when you are using the eol extension to translate line endings. While 276 was apparently fixed in 2.0.1, this one is still a problem (and is actually worse because the only known workaround no longer works) in 2.0.2.
In my case we have a repository with LF line endings but use native line endings in the work area. I.e. the .hgeol file looks like this:
{{{
[patterns]
** = native
[repository]
native = LF
}}}
In this case unshelve (using thg) //always// fails. Adding "eol=auto" to mercurial.ini makes no difference in 2.0.2, although I'm pretty sure this fixed it in 2.0. (It shouldn't make a difference of course, since the eol extension automatically sets patch.eol=auto when it is loaded).

Furthermore, the file in question was empty afterwards, so I lost all my changes. Not having a saved revision of this file might be a common situation because otherwise there would be nothing to shelve. Therefore I think this error to be critical.

While it's possible to connect to a remote repository with an SSH key using pageant, it is far from being an ideal solution. For one thing, pageant can only keep the key in a decrypted form, which can be a security issue for people who tend to leave the computer unattended for periods of time. What more, unlike with secure password managers, pageant does not have any form of "locked mode" or "auto lock/close after idle time", making pageant a very insecure way for managing secure keys.
Now, while all of these can be seen as flaws in pageant, it does beg the question of why pageant must be used at all. In the case of PuTTY, a session can have a key path set to it, in which case the key's password is requested dynamically during connection time. A similar enhancement for TortoisePLink could remove the need to open pageant, right click, add key, select path, enter password, use repository, close pageant, rinse and repeat, for every short access to a key-protected remote repository, and replace it with a simple "enter your master password" dialog.
Not sure about in which format the keys should be, but I imagine PuTTY format would be the simplest to use since TortoisePLink is essentially an extension of PLink.

AFAIK, it is not possible to revert several files at once.
In HgFileListView, no multiple selection of files is implemented.
Could it be something similar to the multiple selection done in the RepoWidget?

On TortoiseHg Workbench 2.0.2 on Windows 7 I attempt to post a review and I get an Http Error (None) message in a windows popup.
Steps:
-Right-click changeset and choose Post to Review Board...
-Select repository, etc. and click Post Review
-The wait bar says Processing...
-Then I get hit with a popup that says: Http Error (None)
Seems like a configuration issue, but everything else looks right:
-Repository ID is there
-Summary is there
-It doesn't matter which option I choose.
Settings button doesn't work either.

In the previous version of THg, the Navigate menu had a lot of very useful actions to navigate to various parts of the repository. It would be very nice to have those actions back.
For example, getting a list of tags to immediately jump to without having to filter on them is super nice.

When using the search toolbar if you select a branch on the branch selection combo, type a query and execute the search, the selected branch is ignored unless the filter checkbox is disabled.
That is, if you disable the filter checkbox you may get revisions that match your search query yet do not belong to the selected branch. This happened because I "forgot" two .filter files. It happens when I try to do a 'visual diff' on the project. I submitted this anonymously a short time ago, but then I figured out what must have happened and decided to submit it again, signed in (so someone can ask me questions if they need to).

If you open the revision history for a file you get a new window that has a toolbar on top. The toolbar has 3 buttons on it: Refresh, back and forward.
If you right click on this toolbar you get a context menu with a single item but no text. The item is a checkbox that is enabled by default.
If you click on the context menu item, the toolbar is hidden. However, since the context menu is only shown when you right click on the toolbar, there is no way to bring the toolbar back!
I think that the context menu should be removed altogether, so that it is no longer possible to disable the toolbar.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/490There is no way to select which columns are shown on the revision history window2020-06-21T09:49:00ZBitbucket ImporterThere is no way to select which columns are shown on the revision history window*Created originally on Bitbucket by [AngelEzquerra (Angel Ezquerra)](https://bitbucket.org/%7Bd3bed3f3-ba51-458a-971d-1d11e915885c%7D/)*

One of my colleagues does get the graph column when he opens the revision file history, although it has it enabled on the workbench.
Either we should be able to chose different sets of columns in the workbench and in the file history, or they should always be the same.

When I run Workbench from a shortcut (rather than inside a repository), it opens Repository Registry panel and focuses on it. In this case I can use the keyboard to select and explore one of the repositories in my list.
However, if in a previous session the Output Log was visibile, this panel will still be open next time I run the Workbench, and its current directory will be the current directory of the process that spawned it —on Windows I usually end up in //%systemroot%\system32\//. Moreover, the Log panel will hold focus, making it impossible to easily navigate the Registry.
The Output log should either be closed when no repository is selected, or at least the Registry should be focussed when Workbench is opened this way.
To reproduce:
* open Workbench, make sure the Log is closed, close Workbench
* re-open Workbench, verify that the Registry is focussed
* open the Output Log, cloe Workbench again
* re-open Workbench, the Log stole focus from the Registry
Keyboard-only workaround:
* if the Output Log is visible, press Ctrl-L. The Log will close and focus will return to the Repository Registry

I have many repositories backed up on my server and currently I have to do perform a pull operation on each individual repository which takes quite a bit of time. It would be great if tortoisehg added a batch pull operation (which also takes the username/password only once for all the repositories) on selected repositories.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/496Exception when checking for outgoing changesets2020-06-21T09:49:06ZBitbucket ImporterException when checking for outgoing changesets*Created originally on Bitbucket by Anonymous*

Export patch appends the export to existing files without any indication of doing it so. Not only is this very unintuitive, but also there's no message indicating that this happened. The end result is a corrupted patch, that behaves as two patches.
====== Steps to reproduce: ======
# Commit revision abc
# Export revision abc to folder A
# Export again revision abc to folder A
You will get only ONE file, containing twice the same revision, and no message to the user, not even a warning about this.
IMO, the expected behavior is that "Export patch" asks for a file name (I never want to keep the default name), and will obviously show a warning box before it overrides (not append) in case the same file already exists.
If you prefer to keep the current behavior of Export not asking for a patch file name, then the solution could be to warn the user if the file already exists, and give the option to 'override' or 'cancel'.
Note that this is actually a very common scenario, it's not limited to plain dumb "export twice" behavior; export uses the revision number for the file name, not the hash, so if you work a lot with patches, or you're stripping and creating new patches on top of the same base revision all the time, you're very likely to fall into this situation.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/503MemoryError from "Diff to local"2020-06-21T09:49:15ZBitbucket ImporterMemoryError from "Diff to local"*Created originally on Bitbucket by [packpro](https://bitbucket.org/%7B10391440-0156-4d58-b133-b057195ceede%7D/)*

This problem started since Tortoisehg 2.0, and it was not solved in April's new version. Through the problem, no error/exception was thrown.
When I input commit message in Chinese, I meet this:
(C1..Cn means the nth Chinese character; input --> result in commit box)
1. input C1 --> C1;
2. input C2 --> C2C1.
However, it should be C1C2.
The problem may be caused by two bytes width of Chinese character, and I am not familiar with Qt, so I am so sorry I cannot solve effectively.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/505Crash at handling a non existing link on an sshfs mounted repository..2020-06-21T09:49:17ZBitbucket ImporterCrash at handling a non existing link on an sshfs mounted repository..*Created originally on Bitbucket by [utku (utku karatas)](https://bitbucket.org/%7Bfe4263ae-da4a-4854-b592-fe78e4756df6%7D/)*

it seems 2.0 seems it focuses more on sexy look, at the expense of ease-of-use.
1) push after commit doesnt push after commit all the time (especially on merges?)
2) there is no obvious UI response for when operations are in progress/finished/errored. pulling from remote, i see the progress bar in the lower-left moving once in a while, but i basically have to wait 20 seconds before I can tell if it's really "finished", and have to parse the log window to see if there is some obscure error message.
other UI issues are annoyances (compressing everything down to 1 screen) but i can live with that. it's just really disapointing that the workflow seems like it suffered so the ui can be redone.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/510UnicodeEncodeError in visdiff.launchtool2020-06-21T09:49:25ZBitbucket ImporterUnicodeEncodeError in visdiff.launchtool*Created originally on Bitbucket by [snooopcatt (Максим)](https://bitbucket.org/%7B1ef7e795-c912-4a01-a5af-23fd57f9ad41%7D/)*

I can't relate the error to a specific action, but opening more than 10 repositories and then for each one:
* check incoming
* accept if necessary
* close tab
if at least one repo has incoming changesets then after working in a few other repos the error has an increased probability of appearance.

In the Clone dialog not showing up after the successful cloning Clone button again. Display this button is only useful if the cloning was the errors (as mentioned in issue #12).
After a successful Clone Pressing this button causes an error. I have repeatedly pressed the button by accident without reading what it says (usability problem).

currently, when using workbench and performing actions (example, "pull incomming changes") the only indicator of work is to look in the lower left corner of the window for status, which may not be animated all the time.
also errors are only reported as text via the output log, which requires users to manually (visually) parse the output log and interpret errors.
proposed solution: a new "status" icon, next to the "refresh current repository" (circular arrows) icon in the upper left.
this status icon should show 3 states:
1) animated "work in progress"
2) static "last actions completed successfully!"
3) static "last actions failed!"

Since installing TortoiseHg v2.0.3, I have experienced a number of crashes while performing incoming and update operations. I run Win7 SP1, 32-bit. I have rebooted since updating from thg v2.0.2 to v2.0.3.
There is no information generated in the log console. In an attempt to gather some debug info, I have set:
* THGDEBUG=1
* tortoisehg.stderrcapt=False
* tortoisehg.guifork=False
With these settings (and thg started from the console) I was able to capture a crash that occurred after the incoming button was clicked:
{{{
no poll, busy 1
QObject::killTimers: timers cannot be stopped from another thread
QObject::killTimers: timers cannot be stopped from another thread
}}}
I will keep running thg this way to see if I can catch the crash during an update.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/533Should be able to execute a query from the "advanced query editor"2020-06-21T09:49:57ZBitbucket ImporterShould be able to execute a query from the "advanced query editor"*Created originally on Bitbucket by [chphilli (Chris Phillips)](https://bitbucket.org/%7Bf481ca2e-fd88-460d-8ad7-8c8709093a8f%7D/)*

Unless I'm missing something, the "Advanced Query Editor" could be significantly more helpful by adding a "search" button to the dialog that executed the search in the currently open repository view. As things currently stand, it seems that a user has to manually copy and paste the query they built into the filter box in the repository view.
(Obviously a "cancel" button would need to be provided as well to say indicate that the window should be closed without changing the repository view.)https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/534Visual Diff2020-06-21T09:49:58ZBitbucket ImporterVisual Diff*Created originally on Bitbucket by Anonymous*

I'm running tortoise hg v2.03 on windows XP 32bit.
I open the hg workbench and try to go to the synchronize tab: it takes several minutes before open it.
The problem, IMHO, is that I have about 10 related paths and some of them is a remote path (\\192.168.2.33\..). It seems that tortoise tries to reach every path before opening the synchronize tab and if one of them is unreachable (a frequent condition, for me) I have to wait some timeout, maybe related with windows. During this timeout, if I disconnect my LAN cable immediatly the synchronize tab is shown without any timeout.

Pre v2 has a pre-defined list of filters like 'heads' and 'ancestors'. We can do this in v2 by using filter expressions, but it would be nice to save 'favourite filters' to a menu instead of the expression dropdown history? Possibly also with some syntax for 'currently selected changeset in workbench'. eg:
heads()|Show all heads,
tagged()|Show all tags,
ancestor(selected)|Ancestory of selected changeset
Note 'selected' is not necessarily the current parent, just whatever the cursor is on in Workbench.
It could be pre-populated with some useful expressions.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/541list index out of range on right click in annotate view before ready2020-06-21T09:50:06ZBitbucket Importerlist index out of range on right click in annotate view before ready*Created originally on Bitbucket by [kiilerix (Mads Kiilerich)](https://bitbucket.org/%7B557b6cb1-8bba-4f83-a28b-d729192b84ef%7D/)*

(Lately I had to teach THG to our designer folks and you can read horror in their eyes when they fire up the GUI.)https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/552Rebase dialog glitch2020-06-21T09:50:25ZBitbucket ImporterRebase dialog glitch*Created originally on Bitbucket by [fernandonajera (Fernando Nájera)](https://bitbucket.org/%7Bbf972ea6-1c99-4fba-b07f-ff7910e3debb%7D/)*

When the rebase dialog appears, the dialog shows first the status "Checking..." but it leaves the Rebase button enabled.
Although the checking phase is fast (in my computer at least), if I click on Rebase during it, the operation is performed, but the button is still enabled during all the time the operation lasts. The Abort button is disabled during the whole operation.
It is a minor glitch, but as I use the rebase dialog quite often, I find it disturbing.

Since Issue <<issue 87>> seems to be a no go, I went with suggestion number 4 from that same issue: Drag from explorer to registry pane. Awesome.
When I drag folders from Explorer into the registry pane and try to drop them into a folder that I created they all drop into the Default folder instead of the one I was targeting.
It would be nice if you could add repos to a given folder by dragging them directly into said folder.https://foss.heptapod.net/mercurial/tortoisehg/thg/-/issues/555Annotate missing from right click menu Version 2.0.32020-06-21T09:50:28ZBitbucket ImporterAnnotate missing from right click menu Version 2.0.3*Created originally on Bitbucket by Anonymous*

I tried a approach to install thg with MacPorts (see instructions below). But now I have this warning in the Terminal when running `thg`:
{{{

I have no clue where this is coming from, any ideas?
=== Alternative: Install via MacPorts ===
* Install XCode (Version 3.x is free and works)
* Install Java Developer Package Update 4 (https://connect.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MemberSite.woa/wa/getSoftware?bundleID=20719)
* Install MacPorts (http://www.macports.org/install.php)
* Install Python and PyQt from ports:
{{{
$ sudo port install python27 python_select
# Make this the default version
$ sudo python_select python27
$ sudo port install py27-pygt4 py27-qscintilla
}}}
* Set /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/bin to your Path (edit ~/.bash_profile)
* Dependencies (distribute, pip, iniparse, pygments, mercurial)
{{{
$ curl -O http://python-distribute.org/distribute_setup.py
$ sudo python distribute_setup.py
$ sudo easy_install pip
$ sudo pip install iniparse pygments mercurial
