Possible issue with special characters
Created originally on Bitbucket by Anonymous
This might be caused by the hgSubversion plugin, but I am not sure, so I am posting the Issue here as well:
I tried to commit 5 revisions to an SVN repository. The commit stopped after the first (oldest) revision:
{{{ % hg --repository V:\Development push https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx/svn/CCDev/trunk pushing to https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx/svn/CCDev/trunk http authorization required realm: Subversion Repositories http authorization required realm: Subversion Repositories http authorization required realm: Subversion Repositories searching for changes [r12448] xxxxx: XXXXXXXXX: - StartMenü- und Desktopverknüpfungen kà pulled 5 revisions saved backup bundle to V:\Development.hg\strip-backup\fde70e245242-backup.hg '\xa6\xcf\xada,\x18?W\xe4\xbdR!\x99:A\x8c\xcb\x87\xd6x' [command returned code 255 Thu Nov 24 17:44:01 2011] }}}
The "'\xa6\xcf\xada,\x18?W\xe4\xbdR!\x99:A\x8c\xcb\x87\xd6x'" Line is quite suspicious.
After that the first (oldest) revision exists two times in my local repository, one time normally, and then a second time but empty. This causes trying to commit again stop with the message "Could not push revision a6cfad612c18 because it had no changes in svn."
I was able to solve the issue by asking someone to commit "something", then update to the new "tip", the rebase, starting with the new revision above the empty doublette.
The Characters that might have caused this were the German Sonderzeichen ä ö ü Ä Ö Ü ß, displayed as e.g. ü = ü
