Feature Request: Share/Move shelves between repositories
Created originally on Bitbucket by chphilli (Chris Phillips)
My normal workflow includes multiple clones of our primary repository that I use for various tasks, features, etc. I occasionally find that I made included a change in one repository that I would actually like to commit separately in a different repository (so it ends up on the correct branch or something similar).
My current solution to this involves a few steps:
- Create a new shelf in the first repository, and add the affected files/hunks to it.
- Manually copy the patch file from the .hg/shelves directory to the .hg/shelves directory of the destination repository. ** If the second repository didn't have shelves, I may have to create the shelves directory.
- Apply the shelf contents to the working directory of the second repository.
It seems like this could be streamlined by TortoiseHg providing a copy/move shelf function between repositories or, even better, automatically showing shelves from related repositories in the shelve dialog.
