MQ: Edit patch reject: "Could not translate the file content from native encoding."

Created originally on Bitbucket by jglathe (Jens Glathe)

Hi,

I assume this is a new one, introduced in version 2.11.2. When I get asked to edit a patch with rejects, i get the attached error message. Afterwards i can (more or less) edit in the source window. However, saving is again rejected with an error.

My workaround so far:

  • open the partially patched file and the rejects in ultraedit
  • patch manually while cursing constantly :)

Anyway, this makes a sucky editing window (the edit with rejects window looks like bolted-on from a different package) completely useless when you get partial rejects.

with best regards

Jens
