Workbench: Sync remote path and target confusion
Created originally on Bitbucket by psuter (Peter Suter)
In the workbench, there's a sync tab with a list of "Paths in Repository Settings". If there are multiple paths in that list, the selected path seems to influence the pull/push/etc. buttons above it.
But that selection does not seem to influence the pull/push/etc. buttons in the main workbench toolbar. Those buttons have their own little dropdown with a path alias.
That's very nice! But it can be confusing when one is not aware of it, or one is not paying close attention. I think these two selections should be kept identical at all times. When one is changed the other should also be changed immediately.
On the other hand there is the very useful "Target" dropdown, also in the sync tab. But this time it affects both sets of push/pull/etc. buttons! That's very confusing, as it's completely the opposite behavior of the paths list selection right next to it.
It can also be very confusing when the sync tab is not active and the target is still checked. It's still affecting the main toolbar push/pull/etc. buttons even though it's not visible.
I think the best way to solve this would be to again add the dropdown also to the main workbench toolbar, but only make it visible when the "Target" checkbox in the sync tab is checked.
