Tortoisehg does not terminate hg.exe process after calling extension via tortoisehg-tools
Created originally on Bitbucket by Incubant
I have writen my own extension and want to run that with tortoisehg-tools out of tortoise (3.9).
To reproduce that issue it is easy to write an extension that does nothing.
#!python
@command('commit_and_tag', [], 'hg commit_and_tag')
def commit_and_tag(ui, repo, *revs, **opts):
ui.status('commit_and_tag\n')
return False
Running this from windows comand line, there is an hg.exe process appearing and terminating after execution. Running it from tortoisehg-tools does execute the extension, but the hg.exe remains running. The main problem of that behavior is, that when i process more than just the return, my extension breaks with an exception in a hook. It does not break if i terminate the hg.exe by task manager.
That is my configuration in mercurial.ini
#!python
[tortoisehg-tools]
commitAndTag.command = hg commit_and_tag
commitAndTag.tooltip = commit and tag machine
commitAndTag.enable = istrue
commitAndTag.icon = C:\el\batch\PythonScripts\resources\commit_and_tag.png
commitAndTag.showoutput = False
