Error on commit after creating a new topic

I'm not sure whether this is a thg issue, an evolve issue, a topics issue, or a mercurial issue, but the big error message pops up in TortoiseHG, so that's where I'll start.

Several times now I've gotten an error when checking in a new commit. This occurs after a sequence of:

  1. Have a topic on the default branch.
  2. Merge the default branch into the dev branch.
  3. Push the repo to make it public, and have the topics disappear.
  4. Update back to the default branch.
  5. Create a new topic.
  6. Push a new commit.

The error window does not let me select the text, so I'll attach a screenshot.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
