Remove Files / Purge Files: rename to prevent user mistakes
Created originally on Bitbucket by EdSF (Ed Chavez)
I am new to THG and use it mainly via GUI (instead of command line).
Well, I just discovered that "Remove Files" and "Purge" says what it means (from file system), instead of what I "thought" it would mean, "remove or purge from (this) repo". Yes, I figured out how to "back out" (but just like any new user, even if I didn't I do maintain a backup).
I believe what I was really looking for was "Forget Files"
I understand the difference now, but would like to suggest that "Remove Files" and "Purge" either be renamed to "Delete from file system" or removed entirely as an option in the Explorer GUI extension. "Forget files should suffice or "Remove from repository" to be more specific (to what THG means to the user).
Overall its a great tool....and perhaps the above was previously discussed/added based on community input...so in the spirit of trying to keep things simple, and in trying to focus THG to what its supposed to be doing, then either renaming these options, or at the very least providing warnings to actions that do affect the file system (drastic things like "this will actually delete the file/directory from your file system") perhaps have some merit.
Thanks!
