Running TortoiseHg 2.x from source on Linux
Prerequisites:
- Python 2.4 or later (but not Python 3.x)
- Mercurial 1.9 or later, see ReleaseNotes
- Python development headers, etc
- Qt 4.6 and PyQt 4.7 or later
- iniparse 0.3.1 or later (optional)
- pygments (optional)
- Qscintilla, and its Python bindings
Once everything is installed, you should be able to clone this repository and run from it.

Debian sid/testing
(python-iniparse and python-pygments are optional)
If the packaged mercurial isn't new enough, try getting it from source by
Ubuntu
For 12.04 and 12.10 (most likely other releases too) use the same packages as for Debian:
Ubuntu provides Mercurial. Also, recent Mercurial compatible with recent TortoiseHG is available from TortoiseHG PPA
