Filters don't work after merging cells.

Using openpyxl, I'd like to apply filters to columns containing merged cells. If I use the merge_cells function, all values but the first are removed, as declared here:
https://openpyxl.readthedocs.io/en/stable/usage.html
Unfortunately, by removing these values, the filters located at the top of each column do not work well; the problem is well exposed here:

In the same video there is also the solution, which consists of copying only the format from another group of empty merged cells.
I have tried to figure out how to do this with openpyxl, but I have not succeeded; I therefore ask to implement this important feature.
Another possibility for the filters to work could be to hide the contents of the merged cells, without deleting them. This is for example possible in Libreoffice Calc, which, when merging cells, offers the option to hide the value without deleting it.
