Some kind of non-nullable hook selector
One small quirk with the current hook selector syntax, ?hook
, is that it is nullable - if 0 instances of the hook are present, no error occurs. This is by design, so that macros like (replace:) can be transcluded into passages indiscriminately, as a "rule" for the story, attaching behaviour to a certain name.
But, there are times when producing an error if the hook is absent is more desirable and robust. So, some alternative perhaps ought be present as well.
