enable electronic shutter for high speed sync flash photography

the 5dII not only has the typical focal plane shutter found at DSLRs, but within the video capability also features an electronic shutter which enables shutter speeds up to 1/4000th second. high speed flash syncing in the photo mode usually is limited by the mechanical shutter. it should/could be possible to sync the electronic shutter to a flash to achieve very fast flash sync time. each photographer would like this feature.
