LaTeX fails during 'make docs'

During 'make docs' latex can't find some picture files in the doc/ dir. Here is the list:

01.audio.png
02.expo.png
03.overlay.png
Zebras.jpg
04.movie.png
05.shoot.png
06.focus.png
07.display.png
08.prefs.png
09.debug.png

Although the picture files is mentioned in the doc/*txt files (and consequently in the generated *tex files) they are absend in the repository.

Also LaTeX does not like two dots in file names:
