Local tags for branches in different remote paths
hg-git creates local1 tags corresponding to the Git branches.
From https://www.mercurial-scm.org/wiki/HgGit
"This will also create a bookmark for each git branch, and add local tags default/ for each branch. This is similar to origin/ in git.
When you pull from a git repository in the [paths] section of hgrc, it will "fast-forward" the bookmarks if the branches haven't diverged. It will also create local tags as above."
However, when working with 2 paths, say "default" (the fork) and "upstream".
In particular it is very common that default/master
and upstream/master
are different, and it is very useful to know for sure where is upstream/master
(it is easy to accidentally move the "master" bookmark locally).
However, no tags are created for the upstream branches and we don't know for sure where is upstream/master
.
Is there something that I don't understand ?

Actually, I'm not sure about the nature of these tags, because, if I use
hg tags -v
, local tags should be marked as "local" (seehg tags -h
), but hg-git tags are not marked as local. Anyway...↩
