User name with non ASCII characters

I've tried to set my user name (TortoiseHg Serrings -> global settings -> Commit -> Username) to my name that contains 'č' and 'š' and got greeted by bug report dialog with this message:

Replacing 'č' and 'š' with simpler characters ('c' and 's') was accepted. I some previous version of TortoiseHg I was able to set my proper name as username so it my be newly introduced bug...
