Case change rename in Windows leads to a mess
Created originally on Bitbucket by Anonymous
If you attempt to rename a file in order to change the case, you end up with a mess.
I wanted to rename CREAD.CPP to cread.cpp. I tried to do this in one step, resulting in: A cread.cpp R CREAD.CPP
When I did the Commit, I was left with: R CREAD.CPP
and no apparent way to get rid of it. If I tried to commit again (with the item checked) I was told there was nothing to commit. Only way to fix this was to save the files somewhere else, Update to the previous revision and Prune the committhat did the Add of the lower case version. Then copy the files back and rename them to the upper case version.
I also tried to do this by renaming to CREADx.CPP and then a rename to cread.cpp (as I recall that this used to work), but at the first step I got the same problem that CREAD.CPP was left behind in the commit list.
I am using 3.4.2 on Windows 7-64 Pro.
