popup prompt doesn't let me scroll list in a window behind it to review vital information

As per issue #4642 (closed), the 3-way diff tool crashed while I was manually resolving merge conflicts.
Right after that, whether related or not, I got the popup you can see in the attached screenshot.
Leaving alone the fact that the question does not provide enough context to actually understand what's going on, I wanted to have a look at the list of files with conflicts which is presented in the window behind the prompt. However, that window is completely locked and I cannot even scroll the list. I understand the buttons (and any other actionable UI element that would allow you to actually do stuff) must be disabled until you choose Yes or No to the prompted question, but you should still be able to interact with the window as far as you don't do anything that "has consequences": scrolling the scrollable list and textarea, as well as selecting and copying text, MUST be enabled (and whatever kind of interaction I might be forgetting that is so to say "read-only").
In this particular case the list is short and as a workaround I could resize the window to a bigger size (that is because I have a screen big enough), but that's obviously not always a solution.
