Ignore *.o causes "TypeError: startswith first arg must be str or a tuple of str, not bytes"
Using the Ignore filter window, if I right-click an untracked file with .o extension and click Ignore *.o, I get the following error:

Work-around
I can click Edit File and edit the .hgignore manually.
