hg clone fails with return value 5 when updating the working directory
Plattform: Windows 10
We recently updated from TortoiseHG 6.5.1 to 6.6.3 and are now experiencing problems cloning one specific repository.
Cloning fails without emmiting any error messages and returns the value 5.
Unfortunatelly, the help (hg help clone --verbose
) only states "Returns 0 on success.
" so we have no clue why the merging failed.
This is the observed behaviour:
C:\Users\rbu>hg clone "E:\foo\master" "E:\foo\local"
updating to branch default
C:\Users\rbu>echo %errorlevel%
5
What we have tried so far:
Updating the cloned repository manually
C:\Users\rbu>hg update --rev tip --clean --repository "E:\foo\local"
C:\Users\rbu>echo %errorlevel%
5
Verified the repository integrity
C:\Users\rbu>hg verify --verbose --repository "E:\foo\master"
repository uses revlog format 1
checking changesets
checking manifests
crosschecking files in changesets and manifests
checking files
checking dirstate
checked 152 changesets with 5659 changes to 1915 files
C:\Users\rbu>echo %errorlevel%
0
We have dozens of repositories that do not exhibit this behaviour, so I guess it is something specific to this one.
When we downgrade to TortoiseHG 6.5.1, then cloning the repository is no problem.
