TortoiseHG "Forget"
Created originally on Bitbucket by i3v (Igor Varfolomeev)
Steps to reproduce:
Preconditions
Suppose our repository is located in
#!
F:\public_html
And
#!
f:\public_html\.hg\hgrc
is as follows:
#!
[ui]
editor = nano
[web]
allow_push = *
[extensions]
win32lfn = d:\Python27\Lib\site-packages\win32lfn\src\win32lfn.py
- Chose any versioned file (I chose
#!
f:\public_html\upload/resize_cache/iblock/0cd/773_366_2/0cdff55696a425366246619e7f0aaf52.jpg
right click it,
from "TortoiseHG" submenu select "Forget Files..."
-
After window is loaded, just click "Forget" button
-
Error pops up:
#!
% hg forget upload/resize_cache/iblock/0cd/773_366_2/0cdff55696a425366246619e7f0aaf52.jpg
abort: \\?\F:\public_html\.hg/store\00changelog.i: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
[command returned code 255 Sun Jan 13 06:39:16 2013]
Let's check it.
- Remove "win32lfn = d:\Python27\Lib\site-packages\win32lfn\src\win32lfn.py" from
#!
f:\public_html\.hg\hgrc
- Do the same as above
- It works.
Notes
- No long paths are necessary
- The same happens for "Remove Files" command
#!
% hg remove upload/resize_cache/iblock/82d/773_366_2/82d0b48e0ff99400727eb759beb9814d.jpg
abort: \\?\F:\public_html\.hg/store\00changelog.i: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
[command returned code 255 Sun Jan 13 06:58:06 2013]
- The same happens for similar "Revert" window
#!
% hg revert --no-backup upload/resize_cache/iblock/82d/773_366_2/82d0b48e0ff99400727eb759beb9814d.jpg
abort: \\?\F:\public_html\.hg/store\00changelog.i: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
[command returned code 255 Sun Jan 13 06:56:42 2013]
- The same happens for "Add" window
#!
% hg add upload/resize_cache/iblock/234/773_366_2/234ddb4536c36a543ce6a8e49629c394.jpg
upload\resize_cache\iblock\234\773_366_2\234ddb4536c36a543ce6a8e49629c394.jpg: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
[command returned code 1 Sun Jan 13 07:00:22 2013]
- In any of these windows, one may right click on the file, and select, say, "Forget", and the file would be removed OK.
