Is it possible to get a deep copy of a workbook object?
I made a post on StackOverflow about trying to make a deep copy of a Workbook object that's created using load_workbook()
. Based on research online and reading through the API I don't think this is curretly possible.
From my understanding of the API, load_workbook()
creates instance of an ExcelReader
object. And ExcelReader
creates an instance of a WorkbookParser
object which is where the parsed assets are stored.
So in order to be able to create a deep copy, we would have to have add a method that would create a new instance of a Workbook
object, update that instance with the parsed assets, and then return it.
Is this understanding correct? Or is there currently a way to make a deep copy of the Workbook
object?
These are the links I used to make the determination:
I'm happy to give a shot at writing code to do this and submitting a pull request if it's not currently supported. I just wanted to make sure my understanding was correct before I invest any more time in this.
Thanks!
