openpyxl + pandas not working on ubuntu
Created originally on Bitbucket by jmcquaid123 (James McQuaid)
Ubuntu version: 12.04
Steps to reproduce:
- Run the following code (pandas supports openpyxl):
#!python
import pandas as pd
#Create a dataframe:
d = {"x": pd.Series([1,2,3,4]), "y": pd.Series([5,6,7,8])
}
df = pd.DataFrame(d)
#Next write it to a file using openpyxl:
writer = pd.ExcelWriter('/home/james/output2.xlsx', engine='openpyxl')
df.to_excel(writer, 'sheet1')
writer.save()
- When you try to open the resulting file: eg, on the command line:
libreoffice /home/james/output.xlsx
you get the following error: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::xml::sax::SAXParseException'
Note: This code runs fine on Mac OSX
