Is this module useful?
I created this module to be a base for common import wizards for tables. It provides a start view to select the file, reads the file and passes an row iterator to a method (which needs to be overwritten by the concrete importer). When done, shows the number of imported modules.
The idea is to get boilerplate away from the developers. ATM I'm using it as a base for a custom importer.
Do you think this is useful and should become part of Tryton Community? (Otherwise I'll just drop it.) @pokoli @mbehrle
Does it make sense to provide some "export wizard" base, too?
Of course, I'd be eager to get some review on the code from you :-)
If we include it, this would be my plan:
-
Create an example module showing how to use this (with and without overwriting start and result view) -
Complete documentation -
Add support for CSV -
Make Excel-Import available only if the respective backend module is available -
Add support for ODS (if the respective backend module is available) -
Promote it at the forum :-) -
Maybe add some "XML Import Wizard"
