Handle EAN14 Codes
The EAN14 Barcode is an extension of EAN13, which includes also the packaging code of the product.
This means, that if we sell a product with EAN13 code 1234567890123
, we can build for him several EAN14 codes for the same product using different package. For example:
-
21234567890123
will be used when selling the product in boxes of 6 units. -
31234567890123
will be used when selling the product in boxes of 30 units. -
41234567890123
will be used when selling the product in boxes of 96 units.
The problem here is that the barcode does not include the quantity but a code which is related to the package.
In order to properly read such codes on Tryton, we need to store the quantity of units that is related to each EAN code.
